If you are young, single with a strong back and the willingness to work as part of a team, Salado Canyon Ranch has employment opportunities on a three month contract, renewable every three months. Room and board with benefits and a salary better than the going rate for ranch hands. The work consists of fence and wall building, rustic carpentry, clearing of mesquite brush and thinning of cactus. You will be maintaining roads and trails, caring for stock,etc.

You will rise at six and perform morning chores such as patrolling the perimeter of the ranch picking up litter, checking levels in water storage tanks and attending to livestock.
At seven a.m. is breakfast followed by a short morning meeting to assign the day’s tasks and bring any subject to the attention of the owners or their representatives that needs discussion. Work will commence until noon.
From noon until 2p.m. is siesta.
This gives everyone time to attend to personal business and rest until 2 p.m. when work will resume until around 6p.m. Evenings and weekends are free time to pursue leisure activities, learn ranching skills,etc. You will be living in a bunkhouse typical of a rural ranch, thirty miles from the nearest town. Every effort will be made to provide a safe, healthy environment in which to live.
Friday afternoon is payday.
An open mind, willingness to learn new skills and function as part of the team, coupled with your best efforts is all that we ask. Long term employment is certainly a  possibility as we are building a guest ranch that will cater to people from all over the world for many years to come. As our infrastructure grows, other jobs such as wrangler, trail guide and wagon driver, food server and dining room staff will open providing opportunities for tips from our guests.
Cash bonuses will be given on a group or individual basis as we see fit. The food will be good and plentiful and every effort will be made to keep things on a fair and even keel.

We will never ask you to do anything that is illegal or morally wrong. Firearms will be kept under the control of the ranch. If you own a horse, you may bring it with you for your personal use. This is great riding country as well as hiking , rock climbing, hang gliding or just about any activity you can think of , including boating , fishing and camping at a large lake just 13 miles from the ranch.
